Inflation: How it Impacts Your Financial Future

By Michael Velazquez

For about the last dozen years, inflation has remained flat or stable. This period includes a near financial meltdown circa 2007-2009. For years thereafter, The Federal Reserve injected lots of liquidity to the markets, a process known as “quantitative easing”, with the goal of propping up the economy. These measures appear to have worked since the economy seems to have gotten stronger. This may be the time to worry about inflation.

Simple Steps to Social Media Etiquette

How many emails and texts do you send in one day?  9… 25… 37… Lost your count?

Your Money or Your Life

Your Money or Your Life

By Michael Velazquez

Many of you will remember Jack Benny, the deadpan comedian. Jack was famous for acting out a story of a holdup. He was robbed at gunpoint and the thief was not joking as he uttered: “Your money or your life!”. Jack would look at the camera in his inimitable style, sigh and put his right hand to his face. When the thief showed impatience at his lack of response, he nudged him with the barrel of the gun, and asked: “Well?”. Jack replied: “I’m thinking, I’m thinking”. Humor aside, I think most of us would consider this an easy decision.

Being Perplexed

by Carol Duschinsky

“What to do, what to do, what to do?” We have all been there. The dilemma of making a decision. The big fear shrouding our brains. “What if I make a mistake?” Well what if you do? Really, are most consequences so permanent that if you do make a mistake you can’t alter your course and start again? Think of it this way – this time you will have a better opportunity to be successful, because you already know what does not work. People usually take one of 2 paths – The Lone Wolf – he/she does all his own research and models himself as a do it yourselfer in everything. Or, The Advice Seeker – he/she gets advice from everybody qualified or not, and can very easily get derailed. Believe it or not there is an art to the process of making a decision.
